Ministry of Water and Environment held a District stakeholders meeting for the construction of Kibanjwa solar powered rural water supply system.

A team from the Ministry of Water and Environment – MWE held a stake holder meeting with district officials on the construction of Kibanjwa parish, Kitoba Subcounty Solar Powered Rural Water Supply System.

This engagement was aimed at providing clear, accurate, and comprehensive information about the project and its anticipated impacts for transparency and accountability in decision-making.

MWE has contracted M/S Nexus Green to undertake design, supply and installation of solar powered water supply in Kibanjwa at a cost: Euros 134,000 (around 550,000,000), estimated to serve a population of 1,383 people and this will be constructed on a land donated by the community.

The Vice Chairperson Hon. Mulumba Hellen thanked the government for the continued support to the district and appealed to the contractor to support the community by giving them jobs during the execution of this project.

During the handover of the site to the contractor, the RDC Mr. Mbabazi Rodgers applauded the community members who donated land on which this project will be constructed an appealed to them to support the contractor as he executes his work. The water user committee should work closely with the contractor and always do monitoring of this project for its success, he said.
