A team of representatives from International Fund for Agriculture Development-IFAD and officials from the two Ministries of Agriculture and Local Government have monitored the progress of projects funded by the National Oil Seed project(NOSP) implemented in Hoima District.
The team which was joined by Madam Nakalungi Sarah Aziz the Chief Adminstrative Officer,Dr.Kajura Charles the District Production Officer,Mr.Chris Kihangire the Acting District Engineer and other technical staff on Tuesday 8th September,2026 monitored different projects including the Kababwa-Kyeramya-Kiryawanga Road and the Hanga-Ariwara-Iseisa Road.
IFAD officials have commended Hoima District for supporting the implementation of the NOSP projects.They have expressed willingness to support the upgrading of the wooden Bridge at Hoimo swamp along the Hanga-Ariwara-Iseisa road.
The National Oilseeds Project (NOSP) in Hoima is a government initiative running from 2021 to 2028 to boost household incomes and commercialize oilseed farming in the Bunyoro region.
The target Crops under the project include;Sunflower, soybeans, groundnuts, and sesame .
