The Hoima RDC has commissioned two motorcycles that will be used in the production department.
The RDC was represented by the Assistant RDC Shafiq Ntuuyo was joined by the LVC Chairman Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri, Hoima CAO who was represented by the Principal Assistant Secretary Evelyne K Businge, District Production Officer Dr Kajura Charles and other technical staff at the district headquarters.
According to Dr Kajura,one motorcycle will be used by the Senior Agriculture Officer and the other will be used in the veterinary area.The two motorcycles cost 22 Million Shillings.A motorized sprayer pump has also been commissioned to help in demostration on proper use of agro chemicals.
He says that the motorcycles will help advance supervisory services to the PDM beneficiaries and Farmer Field Schools where all beneficiaries are trained and equipped with basic skills.
The Hoima LVC Chairman Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri has commended the district production department for using the little available resources to procure the motorcycles which will boost their efforts in implementing government programs more especially PDM.
He adds that training and supporting farmers through field schools is the only way to maximize the benefits of PDM.
Assistant RDC Shafiq Ntuuyo has urged the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles appropriately and give value to public funds.
