Hoima District Commissions projects worth over 650 Million Shillings to boost health and Education services.
In bid to boost education and health service delivery,Hoima District Local Government has commissioned five projects worth over 650 Million Shillings.
The marathon of the commissioning exercises on 14th April 2026 led by the Hoima Deputy RDC Aine Christopher, District Chairman Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri, members of the District Executive Committee,the CAO who was represented by Senior Assistant Secretary Stephen Mwesigwa Rwamukaga and a team of technical staff.
The commissioned projects include;the Staff quarters at Kiseke Health Center Two in Kitoba.The project worth 220 Million Shillings was supported with funding from District Discretionary Equalization Grant -DDEG and contacted by LUBRA contractors.
Others are a Three Classroom Block at Kapapi Primary School in Kapapi Sub County contracted by Basingo Construction Company at a cost of 177 Million Shillings,Kigorobya Town Council Market Linned Pit Latrine contacted by Bisoge Enterprise at a cost of 21 Million Shillings,a two classroom block at Bukona Primary School in Kisukuma Sub County contracted by Basingo Construction Company at a cost of 120 Million Shillings and a two classroom block at Kitemba Primary School contracted by Muda Construction company at a cost of 112 Million Shillings.
The Hoima District Chairman Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri says the commissioning of the projects is meant to boost service delivery to the local people.
He says the district is focusing efforts to improving learning environment through construction of more classrooms, latrine facilities and provision of safe water on top of recruiting more teachers.
While Commissioning the projects,Hoima District Deputy RDC Aine Christopher has commended the district leadership for prioritizing needs of local people.He has urged schools to take the advantage of improved infrastructure to boost academic standards and also fight against school drop out rates which are quite alarming.
He says the government is focused on improving livelihoods of people through different interventions like the PDM program.
Patrick Nyendwoha the Head Teacher Kapapi Primary School says the new classroom block has brought a huge relief to the school whose enrollment is 1438 pupils this term.
Stephen Mwesigwa Rwamukaga who represented the Hoima CAO has urged the beneficiaries to maintain the structures in good shape.
