Contractor hands over a completed 880 Million Shillings Kibanda Piped water project.

Lubra Contractors Ltd has handed over the completed Kibanda Piped water project in Kiganja Sub County to Hoima District administration.
The water project which has been constructed in four phases cost over 880 Million Shillings with support from Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Program (UgIFT).
The project is composed of a pumping station that encompasses a production well, pump house,ecosan toilet, guard house and a fence Other components include;a reservoir tank of 75000 litres capacity, transmission and distribution lines and 24 water taps.The contractor has also handed over a fully furnished scheme operators office and a motorcycle to the district.
The Hoima District Chief Adminstrative Officer Hajat Sarah Nakalungi while speaking at the handover ceremony held at Kiganja Sub County on Tuesday afternoon said the water project is meant to help thousands of people access safe water and improve on their lives She has called upon the local residents to fight against the cropping vice of vandalism of project installations like taps.
The Hoima District Speaker Mulindambula Jackson Nagambo who also doubles as the district councilor for Kiganja Sub County has commended the district leadership for considering Kiganja Sub County for the multi-million project.
The Hoima District Vice Chairperson Fridah Kabagahya who represented the District Chairperson has urged residents of Kiganja Sub County to guard the project jeoulasly against any form of misuse or damage in order to sustain it.She say the district will continue to expand it to benefit all the villages.She has also retaliated the need for people to improve on their sanitation conditions more especially Latrine coverage.
Hoima District water coverage which currently standards at 69% is expected to increase with the completion of Kibanda Piped water project.
