The government through the National Medical Stores-NMS has delivered 158850 Mosquito Nets under the Wave 3C program.
The trucks fully loaded with 3177 bales of the nets were officially received and flagged off for distribution by Hoima RDC, District Chairman, CAO and DHO at the district headquarters this morning.
Evelyn Businge the Principal Assistant Secretary who represented the CAO says the Mosquito Nets distribution is a boost to the fight against malaria more especially among children.
She says a healthy population is key to Social economic transformation.
The District Vice Chairperson Hellen Mulumba commended the government for it’s commitment to fighting malaria.She adds that if the Mosquito Nets are put to right use, the rate of Malaria infections will continue to drastically reduce in Hoima District.
The Hoima RDC who was represented by Sonko Bongore the distribution of the Mosquito Nets rhymes with this years theme of World Malaria Day.
The government is dedicated to fight Malaria and improve on health Services.
He urged the district health department to work closely with different Stakeholders .He warned against selling the Mosquito Nets adding that security agencies will not tolerate any acts stealing or selling the Mosquito Nets.
