The Inspectorate of Government has Held an Engagement meeting with Hoima Specified leaders on the Declaration of Income Assets and Liabilities 2025.

The Inspectorate of Government – IGG has today held an engagement meeting with Hoima district specified leaders on the ongoing declaration of income, assets and liabilities.

The Leadership Code Act, Cap 33 requires all specified leaders to declare their Incomes, Assets and Liabilities every 2 Years and this year the declaration will run from 1st to 31st March 2025.

The CAO Hoima Mr. Ssempala Emmanuel encouraged all leaders to make use of the Online declaration and Declare their Incomes, Assets and Liabilities before the due date. He emphasized that declaration should be done with transparence and without fear.

Declaration doesn’t stop Civil Servants from creating personal wealth because His Excellence the president of Uganda called on every ugandan to create wealth through hardworking but not illicit  wealth” The CAO said

Mr. Othieno Paul the head of Hoima regional IGG office outlined the mandate of the IGG, enforcement of the Leadership Code Act, Cap 33 being one of the mandate.

During the same meeting the RDC Mr. Mbabazi Rodgers called upon all leaders to take this activity serious and encouraged all leaders in this category to declare.

The following category of leaders are to declare;

District Political leaders; Chairperson, Vice Chairperson of a District or Sub-county, a member of a District Executive Committee, a District Councillor and a Municipality Chairperson, and Speaker and Deputy Speaker of a District Council.

Technical leaders; Chief Administrative Officer, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and Assistant District Administrative Officer, Town Clerk and Assistant Town Clerk, Treasurer, Deputy and Assistant Treasurer, Sub county Chiefs, Head of a District Directorate or Department, Accountants, Internal Auditors, Procurement Officers, Headteachers and Deputy Headteachers of Government Aided Schools, Post-Secondary and Tertiary institutions.

Chairpersons and members of the Contracts Committee, District Land Board and the District Service Commission.
