Hoima district local government has handed over motorcycles to LCIII chairpersons of different sub-counties in the district.

The 14 motorcycles were delivered over the weekend by the Office of the Prime Minister as a donation by president Museveni. The motorcycles were pledged by the president during presidential campaigns for the 2021 general election.

While handing over the motorcycles to the beneficiaries, Kirungi Kadiri, the district LCV Chairman commended President Museveni for fulfilling his pledge adding that the local leaders have been lacking transport to monitor government projects.

He also challenged the beneficiaries to use the motorcycle to mobilize the community for production to improve on their household income and education of their children.

Michael Kyakashari, the Hoima district deputy resident district commissioner warned the beneficiaries against misusing the motorcycle and advised them to utilize them for the intended purpose.

He says that they should use the motorcycle to mobilize the locals for development activities and avoid using the motorcycle as boda-boda and taking them to their farms.

Alex Mwesigwa and Godfrey Mwesigwa chairperson of Kyabigambire and Kiganja respectively noted that the issue of transport has been a big challenge adding that the motorcycle has come at the right time when local governments are implementing the parish model development.
