Hoima District Council has today approved the 42.5 Billion shillings budget estimate for financial year 2026/2027.
The motion to approve the budget estimate and workplan was tabled by Naume Koojo the Secretary for Finance, Planning, Administration and Investment during the Council sitting of the political term presided over by Speaker Swaibu Nyangabyaka.
The 42,520,929,000= Shillings budget is more than the current Financial year 2025/2026 by 11,072,726,000 Shillings representing an increase of 35%.
According to the budget estimates,82% of the funds will be conditional grants amounting to 35 billion shillings with local revenue expected to fetch 1.5 Billion Shillings representing about 4%.
The budget will largely focus on uplifting service delivery in areas of improving road network,schools,health facilities and agriculture.
Some of the key projects include; the upgrading of Buseruka Health Center Three to a community hospital at 6.55 Billion Shillings whose construction will be undertaken by UPDF Engineering Brigade.
