Today the district has held a meeting with Health Inspectors and Community Development Officers to discuss on the establishment and operationalization of the water user committees (WUC) in the communities.
The CAO encouraged the Health inspectors and CDOs to facilitate the creation and operationalization of water user committees. He emphasized that the WUC play a vital role to manage the operations and maintenance of each community water source.
In addition the communities should be mobilized to monitors water quality on a regular basis, promote safe water handling practices, and encourages adoption of healthy Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) related behaviors and practices.
