Hoima district residents who are predominantly farmers and traders have commended the district administration for working on the rural road network which has greatly impacted on their trading activities and agriculture produce market accessibility.
The beneficiaries of the road infrastructure interacted with the district officials during a technical monitoring of the ongoing and completed works on roads in the 2025/2026 financial year.The exercise was led by Chief Administrative Office Ssempala Emmanuel,the internal auditor Wandera Yusuf and the acting District Engineer Chris Kihangire.
The monitored and interacted with project beneficiaries on;
Kisabagwa-Bugandale (10.0km), Bujwahya-Nyamirima-Kakindo (8km), Buraru-Ngangi (8.0km) and Kyarubanga-Bukerenge (3.0km).
The district has a total road network of 568.5km with over 80% in good motorable condition while the rest are lined up for work before the end of this financial year.
While interacting with the monitoring team,the residents in Buraru,Buhanika,Kyabigambire and Kitoba have revealed that the works on the roads have greatly improved on transportation of their agriculture produce to Hoima City markets something which has positively impacted on their household incomes.

They have asked the district administration to improve on drainage, clear access points and also continue to apply strong marram to enhance the roads’ life span.
The CAO commended the residents for being positive and supporting the district projects adding that they should continue to embrace government projects.
The Acting District Engineer Chris Kihangire has assured residents of working on emerging issues on all road projects.
Scope of workk on all the roads include; bush clearing, shaping, compaction, spot gravelling, culvert cleaning and opening.
