Hoima district local government has commissioned the disbursement of 2.75 billion shillings Parish Development Model funds to 55 parishes in the district.
The exercise started on Monday in Kisukuma and Bombo parishes where 500 Million shillings has so far been disbursed to 10 parishes in a space of two days.
Dr Charles Kajura the Hoima District Production Officer-DPO who is also the PDM focal person says each parish is entitled to getting 50 Million shillings implying that the 55 parishes that make up Hoima district will all receive 2,750,000,000 shillings.
He said the process started with Kisukuma on Monday and Bombo sub county on Tuesday where practical training centers-PTC were also commissioned to train and equip PDM beneficiaries with practical and hands-on skills in their areas of enterprise.

While commissioning the disbursement of funds exercise, the Hoima Deputy RDC Micheal Kyakashari Muramira warned the program beneficiaries against squandering the funds in nonproductive activities.
He urged the beneficiaries to continue supporting the NRM government because it’s also committed to ensuring that people have eradicated poverty through promotion of household income initiatives like PDM.
The Hoima LCV Chairman Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri Junior said the only way to maximize the benefits of PDM funds by the beneficiaries, is to invest it in enterprises with quick and high returns like animal rearing. He warned against acts of extortion by some unscrupulous actors who are tainting the image of government.
According to Dr Kajura, the disbursement exercise will continue until mid-August 2025 where all the 55 parishes will have been covered.
