Hoima district local government has pledged to collaborate with the Fairventures Worldwide-FVW a non government organization in promotion of agroforestry and creation of mitigation measures to climate change.
During the district leaders engagement meeting held 5th August 2025 in the office of the Deputy CAO Chaired by Principal Assistant Secretary Evelyne K Businge,FVW director for support and operations Mr James Thembo said that the organization’s activities are tailored to integrate agroforestry, providing climate solution improvement of livelihoods of local people through growing trees for both timber and food production.

The Hoima district Vice LCV Chairman Hellen Mulumba has urged the organization to ensure that it has signed up an MOU with the district in order to streamline it’s activities with the district priorities.
The Hoima district production Officer Dr Kajura Charles has urged the organization to work with government programs like PDM and also work closely with the government.
The Principal Assistant Secretary Evelyne K Businge has asked FVW to also look at integrating clean energy use in their activities.
FVW is operating in 11 districts including Hoima district where they have seen 44,655 trees planted with survival rate of 68%.
